Special Exhibition: AUTUMN FOLIAGE SEEN IN KYOTO CRAFTS



Museum explanations are now available in French and Chinese !!


Up till now, the museum explanations were available only in Japanese and English,
but recently we have prepared the booklets with numbered explanations of displayed craftworks in French and Chinese (traditional and simplified).
Feel free to borrow them at the entrance of Fureaikan and use them in the museum exhibition hall.
 
The digital version of the booklets is also available for the smartphone and tablet device users :

Surigata-Yuzen dyeing experience

 





Visitors can experience Surigata-Yuzen,Kyoto’s stencil-dyeing, and make their own original works in about 45minutes.They can take these items back home.(Pay service ¥900~)

 From Monday to Saturday and public holidays : for group participants only (Reservation is required 2weeks before)
 On Sunday : for individual visitors only (Reservation is not required)
 Available 9:30 – 17:00 (*Reception: 9:30-15:30 from Monday to Saturday and public holidays, 9:30-16:00 on Sunday )

From an array of traditional patterns, visitors can choose their favorite ones.
Popular themes include: Cherry blossoms, Plum blossoms, Camellia, Fireflies, Daimonji mountain, Gion Festival, and kanji (Chinese characters).
