Welcome to the Kyoto Museum of Traditional Crafts. Kyoto flourished as the focal point of Japanese culture and history for over a millennium. The crafts and culture which Kyoto has given birth to have contiously embraced the new while nurturing an aesthetic sense for the traditional among the lifestyle of the Japanese people. The Kyoto Museum of Traditional Crafts even now perpetuates this tradition, serving as a venue for people, beauty and craftmanship. The Kyoto Museum of Traditional Crafts aspires to encourage among a greater number of people an appreciation for the beauty and craftmanship permeating the city of kyoto.
